Simple Star from "Quick-Strip Paper-Piecing" by Peggy Martin, Halo Star by Marcia Hohn of Quilterscache.com
I used the same fabrics that I used in my two babys' quilts, and used stars like theirs, because this doctor delivered both my babies with high-risk pregnancies.
A sweet little quilt collaborated with one of my best friends. Our neighbor found out suddenly she had cancer....in July....and she passed away the first week in December. She had two weeks to love this little wall hanging, and her family said she was cuddled under it when she passed.
My friend's daughter came up with the idea of a quilt and name for the quilt "As I Have Loved You", because our friend had so much love and compassion for others in her heart. I designed the quilt in Quilt-Pro, we shopped together, I taught her how to paper-piece and applique, she hand-embroidered the words and the quilt label, and I did everything else, including the machine-quilting. Fall 2010.
My first son's baby quilt, 44x60". completed 2009. Almost completely hand-quilted!
