More backing

I have my cutting space back! Piles of fabric meant for quilt backing take a lot space.

Remember this one? ModaLove charm pack quilt with Kate Spain's Sunnyside.

Is it just me, or did the star grow more into a bear paw, when I added the rest of the charms? (The pattern calls for 30 charms to be used, and Moda charm packs have 42 pieces, so I wanted to use the leftover 12 charms.)

The back is made with Kate's Daydream Cadence print, plus two strips of the lilac background solid, and a large strip of Sunnyside Celestial that's leftover from the top's border.
I just love that the colors from Kate's different collections play so well with each other.

Need borders

Here's my Moda Love made with Sunnyside charms! Love my Kate Spain charms!
#showmethemoda, #modalove

It is about 40" square right now.

Now I need to decide on a border!
I'm trying to decide between a 2" or 4" finished background purple border.
Then I want a Sunnyside print border.

I like them both, but the blue/purple print seems to go so much better with the purple theme. Problem is, I've got a scant 1/2 yard and that's it. I don't know if it would be enough, even if using corner squares from the silver or yellow print. ???????

Time to go to Quilt-Pro and calculate estimates!

On a side note, I'm all icked-out. Three kids with cold/flu and stubborn fevers for the last 12 days. I'm tired of tissue, snot, liquid Tylenol and Ibuprofen with syringes. Boys staying home from school, although they're back this week. The baby has been the last to get the bug, and he's so plugged up, he's refusing to nurse. Even after suctioning his nose! After he chugged some milk pumped into a bottle, he refused to drink anything going down for his nap. He might just be helping to wean himself more quickly than I planned, and that means "ouch" for me!

HST trimming

Hi!
The temperature is hanging just above freezing, the baby is napping, J. and S. are in school. I'm catching up in episodes of Castle and trimming piles of HST from Solstice, Paradiso, and Sunnyside by Kate Spain.

I found a cream-on-cream calico that reminds me of pine needles, to go as background with Solstice.

I'm using bleach white Kona for background with Paradiso.

I'm using a fun medium lavender solid for background with Sunnyside. I think it's perfect purple for Sunnyside, the dark purple in storm clouds right before the rain or snow hits. Or the color of the sky, right at sunset, with the last rays of the sun bouncing off the last of those clouds after the storm.
